Botox in Fort Lauderdale often starts with the forehead, because those lines show in every waterfront photo. BOTOX® Cosmetic is labeled for moderate to severe forehead lines in adults when it is given with the frown. The October 2024 FDA label dose is 0.1 mL (4 units) into each of five forehead sites (20 units) plus 0.1 mL (4 units) into each of five glabellar sites (20 units), for a recommended total of 40 units.

How the forehead muscle works

The frontalis lifts the brows. When it works hard, horizontal creases stack. A licensed provider watches you raise, rest, and frown so they can see whether the center, the sides, or both do the lifting. Treating the forehead without the frown can drop the brows in some people, which is why the label pairs the two maps.

Units are specific to BOTOX Cosmetic. They are not a 1:1 swap with Dysport® or Xeomin®. Ask which product the provider plans to use before you compare a number you heard from a friend.

What to expect at the consult

You sit up, wash the area if they ask, and move your brows on command. The injector may mark points with a wipe-off pencil. Ice or vibration is sometimes used; that is a comfort choice, not a medical claim. After the drops, you can usually walk back to the car. Onset is not immediate. Give the plan the days the provider names before you judge the photo.

Call (954) 794-4540 if the forehead is the line you notice first. A licensed local provider returns the call. Bring a list of medicines and say if you have had toxin in the last three months. The Medication Guide states it is not known if Cosmetic use is safe and effective more than once every three months.

Sun, boats, and Broward calendars

Fort Lauderdale light is hard on the upper face. Hats and sunscreen still matter after a relaxer, because UV is not a muscle. If you have a boat-show week or a family visit, tell the provider the date so they can be honest about when the forehead usually settles.

People who also notice crow’s feet or a heavy masseter can mention those in the same call. Men with a strong frontalis can start on Botox for men. Plantation callers use the Plantation page if that is closer to home.

Questions worth asking

Ask how many forehead sites they plan. Ask whether they will treat the frown in the same visit. Ask what they want you to skip that evening — exercise, a tight hat, or lying face-down. Ask how they handle a brow that feels heavy at the two-week mark.

This is general information, not a dose for you. The person who sees you move is the one who writes the map.

A Broward forehead plan also has to respect how you wear sunglasses and a visor on the water. If a heavy frame sits on the frontalis all afternoon, tell the provider. They may change the upper points or the first-evening instructions.

People who already raise their brows to lift heavy lids should say so. Relaxing the frontalis without a plan for the brows can make the eyes look tired. That is a reason the label pairs forehead treatment with the frown, not a reason to skip the consult.

If you color your hair or use a tight headband for spin class, ask whether that waits a day. None of those habits are in the FDA label. They are the local details that make a Fort Lauderdale week different from a stock photo.

Keep a simple log: date, product name, units in the forehead, units in the frown. The next licensed provider you see will want that list. Call (954) 794-4540 if you do not yet have a first visit on the calendar.

Horizontal lines that stay at rest after years of motion may not vanish. A relaxer changes movement. Deep etched lines can still show. Ask whether they think you are looking at motion, at sun, or at both before you decide.
